Looking at a new day, a new year, and a new life, Geisha Designs by Paras and Shalini showcased a fashionably positive collection at the FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week.
Their “New Beginnings” line was all about celebrating the joi de vivre with a clean white slate as an inspiration. Aimed at the woman who celebrates life and self-love, the ensembles were feminine, flouncy, and at times delicately flirty. Lustrous silk and satin played a perfect melodious fabric symphony, while myriad colors danced on the surfaces.
Embroidery was the star focal point, but in a delicate but radiant format that created an amazing impact on the garments. Frills and ruffles played a vital role to highlight the utterly feminine line, which will appeal to women who are embarking on a new and exciting fashion path.
The deep red lehenga and choli projected a New Age look for bridal wear. The lehenga encrusted with 3D appliqués vied for attention with the seductively, ruffled off-shoulder choli.
A more western offering was the beautifully embellished form-fitting gown with elaborate sleeves a deep ‘V’ décolletage and printed inner. Colors, florals, prints, and appliqués danced with gay abundance on the ensembles. Going for something a little unconventional, it was the cropped biker’s embroidery jacket with a lehenga and another long-sleeved cropped zippered creation that were eye-catchers.
Cute boleros over a bustier, some with cut-out long-sleeves and an embellished waistcoat inspired choli, brought a fun element to the collection, while the will-powered gown made a grand entry. Saris were edged with fluttering 3D flowers and looked amazing in their multi-colored hues. Showing a fashion direction towards exaggerated puffed sleeves with the long skirts, the designing duo ensured that drama was at its peak during the line-up of clothes.
For the coming season, it is all about “New Beginnings” in a stylish mode from Geisha Designs by Paras and Shalini that will add immense value to women’s wardrobes.
