Mohit: Yes, definitely you can check my recently launched “Pitambari collection” on Instagram.

Expresso: Tell us about your interesting journey as a designer?

Mohit: Actually, when I started designing, the craze for designer clothes was not that much. I started at the tender age of 18 in 1993 and initially, I used to work with my mother in her boutique. Gradually my work started gaining popularity, which made me more passionate about designing. In 2010, I launched my label Daamann and the famous Rohit K Verma walked for me.

Expresso: Tell us about your inspiration to become a designer?

Mohit: I am a self-made man, so I can say that no designer had inspired me. Although, I can admit that my mother is my biggest inspiration. Apart from that, my free hand paint used to be excellent. So, with time I got more interested in making my career in the fashion industry and began to sketch my unique designs.

Expresso: What is your collection is all about?

Mohit: My collections are all about traditional dresses. I mean you can sense Rajasthan, mainly, the Raja and Rajwadas in my collection. The latest collection of mine is having colors of wedding, primarily, the maroon, white, golden, and coffee and is mainly a fusion of 100 years old fashion with the latest ones.

Expresso: Would you like to tell us about your Autumn-Winter wedding collection?

Mohit: Oh, sure! It’s all about heavy bridal lehenga with Rajasthani block printing with real gold and silver work with semi-precious stones. Taking inspiration from the “gotta-patti” & “polki” from Jaipur we are designing our jutis as well.

Expresso: As a designer what is your forte?

Mohit: My threading work and the use of semi-precious stones is my speciality. After all, you can see the touch of Rajawada work only in my collection. With our experience and you can say experiments we try to give every garment an antique look.

Expresso: Who according to you which celebrity has a unique style statement?

Mohit: Well, according to me its Puja Bedi. You see, she is very particular about the design and the cuts and nevertheless, she carries herself very well.

Expresso: Would you like to give any valuable suggestions to the blooming designers?
